Meghalaya is one of the Seven Sister States situated in North East India. The beautiful name Meghalaya means “Abode of clouds.”
The name explains the charm of the place with white clouds and mist. Surrounded by Garo, Khasi, and Jayanti hills, Meghalaya is the wettest state in India. Green landscapes, rain-filled rivers, waterfalls, fauna & flora, and fascinating caves capture every traveller’s heart. Not only that, but the cultural importance also attract people repetitively.

Best time to visit Meghalaya:
In Meghalaya, all seasons bring beauty to nature. So, whenever you want, you can plan a trip with family and friends or travel solo to see greenery, waterfalls, and caves and feel the adventure.
From April to June, in the summertime, the temperature ranges between 16-31˚C. During this season, you can explore the outdoors and watch a glimpse of tribal festivals.
July to September is the peak of the rainy season. And with the two rainiest cities Mawsynram and Cherrapunjee, Meghalaya shares different charm. The morning mists, green valleys, and water burble in waterfalls or rivers provide you peace away from the crowd.
In autumn (October-November) cherry trees bloom with pink and white flowers, and the temperature ranges between 22-29˚C. Travelers can participate in various festivals during this time.
The winter season (December to March) is comfortably cold here. The temperature fluctuates between 4-16˚C. Winter is the best time to trek, and then explore Balpakram National Park and Living Root Bridge-like places.
Tour program: 5 Days & 4 Nights
Day1: Guwahati to Shillong
Meet our representative at the airport/Railway Station of Guwahati, then proceeds to Shillong. Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya, also called 'Scotland of the East". Then, reach the majestic Umiam Lake (Bara Pani), and you may enjoy the water sports(Optional). After arriving at Shillong, check in at your hotel. In the evening you can visit Police Bazaar, one of the biggest local markets. And stay overnight in the hotel at Shillong.
Day2: Shillong to Cherrapunji
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the mesmerizing view of Shillong. After breakfast, set out for Cherrapunji the wettest of places in the world. Then visit Eco Park, Dainthlen Falls, NohKaLikai Falls, Nohsngithiang Falls (Seven Segmented waterfalls), Mawsmai Cave, Thangkharang Park. After that, overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
Day3: Cherrapunji
Complete breakfast and proceed for a full day trekking to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge at Nongriat Village. Trek down 3200 steps approximately every way to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Then further trek down to the Rainbow Falls will take about 60 to 90 minutes from the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. In the evening, return to Cherrapunji and stay in the hotel for leisure.
Day4: Cherrapunji to Dawki Shnongpdeng, Mawlynnong Village & Shillong
After breakfast, visit Mawlynnong Village, the cleanest village in India. It is a colorful little village situated 90 km away from Shillong. Besides the picturesque scenes, it offers many fascinating sights such as the Living Root Bridge, Mawlynong waterfalls, and a charming treehouse.
Then visit Dawki Shnongpdeng, where you can enjoy boating in the crystal clear waters of the Umgnot River. In the evening, proceed to Shillong and stay overnight there.
Day5: Guwahati
Wake up, have your breakfast and check out from the hotel of Shillong. Then set out for Guwahati. And if time permits, take a tour of the Kamakhya Temple and other Temples in Guwahati. After visiting, with everlasting memories, head to Guwahati airport/railway station.
