Best time to visit:

Kerala has a humid and tropical climate throughout the year. In summers the humidity is high but the hilly region remains cool. So if you are planning to visit Kerala between March to May, visit the hill area. The temperature remains 30-36˚C in summers.

Anyone who wants to see Kerala blooming with lush greenery then must go to Kerala trip in the monsoon. But, due to heavy rainfall, there is always the risk of flooding.

However, visit Kerala between September to March, when humidity is low and the temperature remains pleasant. At this time you can enjoy sightseeing, forest safari, and boat cruises.

Tour Program: 10 Days and 9 Nights

Day 1: Arrival at Cochin Airport – Hotel

After arriving at the Cochin Airport get assisted by our driver. Then reach the hotel and complete the check-in formalities. In the afternoon, proceed for a city tour of Cochin to visit the Dutch Palace (Built by the Portuguese). Also, visit Jew Town (the 1568 Jewish Synagogue), the spice market, where you can feel the strong smell of spices. Next visit St. Francis Church and Chinese fishing nets. After that return to the hotel for calm overnight stay at Cochin.

Day 2: Cochin to Munnar (132 km/ 3 hours)

On day second, start your day with a healthy breakfast. And get ready for the next destination on the tour itinerary of Kerala. Then set out towards Munnar; the stunning hill station of Kerala. After arriving at Munnar, check in at the hotel to relax. You can explore different places like the aromatic tea plantations or satisfy yourself in thrilling sports activities like paragliding. Then return to the hotel and enjoy a comfortable night’s stay at the hotel in Munnar.

Day 3: Munnar Sightseeing

After having a delicious breakfast at the hotel, set out to visit the full day of sightseeing around Munnar. You can enjoy dramatic views of Anamudi, the highest peak in South India(2695 m). The peak is visible from Munnar. Then view the Christ Church and proceed for wildlife watching at Eravikulam National Park (16 km away). After an exciting tour of Munnar return to the hotel.

Day 4: Munnar to Thekkady or Periyar (90 km / Approximately 2 hours)

Post breakfast at the hotel, leave for Periyar in the morning which will take 2 hours. After that, check in at the hotel in Munnar. Or you can choose an option for a delightful boat ride in the Periyar Lake in the evening. Here, you can enjoy observing the variety of birds and animals like tigers, elephants, wild boars, deer, etc. in the Periyar / Thekkady National Park. Also, you can visit a few tribal villages around Periyar and witness tribal activities like collecting honey from dangerous hill bees. In the evening return back to hotel. Stay overnight at Thekkady.

Day 5: Thekkady to Kumarakom (121 km / 3 hours)

After having breakfast check out and get ready for Kumarakom. Enjoy approx 3 hours journey to reach the destination. And check in at the beautiful backwater resort on arrival. After freshening up you can spend the rest of the day in leisure. Or you can click pictures of picturesque backwaters from one of the major attractions of Kerala. Stay that night in the hotel of Kumarakom.

Day 6: Kumarakom to Alleppey (38 km / 1 hours)

Check out from the hotel after breakfast. Then enjoy the charm of backwater reaching on a Houseboat cruise across the backwaters. You will spend the next 22 hours in the drifting villa. Appreciate the backwaters of Kerala with a glimpse of the village life at close quarters. It will be a special and unforgettable experience. Watch the beauty of sunset & stay overnight on the houseboat in Alleppey.

Day 7: Alleppey to Kovalam (160 km / 4 hours)

After breakfast at the houseboat in Alleppey, proceed for Kovalam. On arriving check in to a hotel near the beach in Alleppey. The day is free to spend leisure time on the beach. Here, you can enjoy playing and swimming in the shallow water. A pleasant sunbath is a perfect option to unwind. Enjoy adventurous activities with thrilling beach sports. If you want to feel relaxed, take an ayurvedic massage here. Then stay overnight hotel in Kovalam.

Day 8: Explore Kovalam Beach

After having breakfast, explore the beaches the whole day. Then stay overnight at a hotel in Kovalam.

Day 9: Visit Trivandrum from Kovalam

Drive from Kovalam and arrive at Trivandrum. Take a city tour of Trivandrum. Then view the main attraction, Padmanabhaswamy Temple. It is one of the 108 pilgrimage sites for the Vaishnavites. The stunning carvings on its 400 pillars are significant. In the evening, return to Kovalam and stay the night there.

Day 10: Kovalam / the Departure

Enjoy a hearty breakfast then you will be dropped off at the Kovalam airport. Enjoy a safe journey back home with all the remarkable memories you made in Kerala.
